Frequently Asked Questions

The AI Advisory Committee brings together industry experts and district technology leaders to explore how we can support both preservice and inservice teachers in using AI responsibly and effectively in their work. We focus on curriculum development, professional development, tool evaluation, and policy guidance.

The committee meets quarterly for formal sessions, with additional working group meetings as needed. We also host an annual conference to share findings and best practices with the broader educational community.

Committee membership includes USF faculty, district technology leaders, school administrators, and industry experts in AI and education technology. Members are selected based on their expertise and commitment to ethical AI implementation in education.

We use a comprehensive evaluation framework that considers educational effectiveness, ethical implications, privacy and security, ease of use, and alignment with curriculum standards. Each tool undergoes pilot testing in real classroom environments before recommendation.

We offer workshops, webinars, online courses, and hands-on training sessions for both preservice and inservice teachers. Topics include AI tool integration, ethical considerations, and best practices for AI-enhanced learning environments.
